Why would any fan of Anderson want to see him come back?

First of all, the guy is 38 and he just suffered an extremely severe injury. An injury that has ended careers of athletes much younger than him. I understand being a fan but damn, do you want to see him fukk himself up for life just so you could later say some shyt like: "Oh, well I really thought he could come back but I guess his body just can't handle that type of pressure anymore :to:"? Do you really think a leg that had both the tibia AND the fibula completely broken in half will ever be as strong as it was before? :usure:Especially at 38 years old?:childplease::comeon: What do you think will happen when he throws that same kick again a couple of times and it gets checked? If he's lucky and it doesn't get broken in the same way again you better believe he'll suffer some fractures. On top of that, the muscles and ligaments in that leg will never have the strength and flexibility that they once did which will open up the floodgates for other injuries such as blown out knees and ACL tears.:sadcam: And furthermore, anybody with two eyes could see that even before the break Anderson had mentally checked out. I don't care if I get hate for this but he simply looked stunned.:yeshrug: Anybody that follows combat sports such as boxing, kickboxing, or MMA knows that a fighter's decline is rapid. It literally takes a couple of fights for somebody to go from looking untouchable to being over the hill - especially at that age. Anderson is the GOAT up until this point. He's had an amazing career and has nothing left to prove. :ufdup:There is nobody that's putting Weidman over him in the all-time rankings when it comes down to it. He is not a poor and hungry Brazilian with a chip on his shoulder any more. He will not bounce back from this the way you want him to. Just let it go.:snoop:

I don't think anyone would have a problem with him walking away, but ultimately it will be his call.

Fighters shouldnt retire until they recieve a career ending ass whooping, a dive and injury doesnt classify as that:comeon:

I don't want to see it. As a fan these last two fights haven't swayed my view of him being the GOAT nor has it damaged any of the memories of him terrorizing the division and looking like he could do it to the 205'ers if he felt like it

I have always said that Anderson will only start losing when his athletic gifts and reflexes begin to fail him and the pack catches up, it won't be due to fighting skill erosion.

That's what appears to be happening. And on top of it he doesn't seem to be having fun with the process anymore. All of his interviews and body language were that of a man who has done all that he set out to do. I get a feeling he might return only to erase that memory of him being carted off on a stretcher as his final moment but his legacy is in tact and won't be touched anytime soon.

Exactly, and once that hunger disappears then it might as well be over.

So yall want Silva to retire and Weidman to be the face of the UFC with 2 ** wins, Dana/UFC wouldnt last to 2015:comeon:

Do yall want Silva to go away because yall fear Silva with his black powers, will style profile and demolish that sloppy cac next time around........Racial insecurities would be the only reason to spew this nonsense

He has nothing to prove, I don't want to see such a great champion struggle like a jobber in a gym. You can never tell a fighter when to stop until he wants to, that's the other side of the warrior spirit. I hate to sound all metaphysical but Anderson had been in martial arts his entire life, it's hard to just walk away. I don't want him to but like any fighter its up to him.

Even andersons son wants him to quit.

All respect for Chris to go out there and fight like a champion. Congratulations, Chris. It's your turn to be a legend. All the enemies are celebrating Silva and do not come to see me, is not my fault. But I want to see you do what he does. I hope he retires and go home because I'm tired of watching my father train every day, be gone for two or three months ... and a broken leg happens ... And as always you are my champion father. And once again, good job Chris.
