I'm not sold on the Africa thing like others. Since my politics lean progressive I can't fukk with no highly religious African country that bans homophobia and shyt. I'd rather move to a place like Jamaica or Canada. Hell, I should learn Spanish and check out South america.
I've been making my moves. I have a college education down, so that's a plus for any international country who accepts me. I work on my art at least 10 hours a week. I've taught myself Japanese and I am now lower intermediate level in just a year. I'm teaching myself skills right now to diversify my use, which is already high due to my schooling. I'm currently working on a comic series, saving money and moving to Los Angeles so I can make money. If the plan works out, I should be the money, means, experience, and skill set to move to another country by 2020. Before then, I'm learning Spanish. Bilingual? Try trilingual.
Other options besides Jamaica, Canada, and South America are Germany which is booming right now, and of course, Asia. See now, it helps that my problem with American is it's treatment of blacks. My problem is the whole barrel. Our countries history is a disgrace no matter what the minority, or former minority (I.e. Italians and Irish). So for me, any place that interests is me good.

The whole African thing is a pipe dream. Garvey philosophy has a good idea, but the problem with It is that it assumed Africa is one giant homogenous culture. I have never been to Africa. To assume that I'll get along with them just because our skin color is naive and hollow in its lack of self awareness.

Oops. Sorry, I'm on a phone, I meant South America. But Learning Spanish would still be in the cards, Portugese and Spanish are very, very similar.

Y'all need to face it. America is past it's prime. A tourist attraction. There's no industry here anymore that hasn't been shipped out. It's moved from a producer economy to a consumer/convenience economy to priveleged classes with disposable income. Whole cities are being extradited and every aspect of them is being made profitable at the expense of the people that live there. Suburban Sprawl is reversing itself. Black people are getting pushed out of the major American cities through gentrification and inflation.
This is just globalization taken effect. Unfortunately from what I've noticd from living here in NYC, sadly the poor and minorities of this country will not be able to reap the benefits of it in America. Some of y'all forget that black people have been slaves in this country longer than they have been citizens and longer than America has even been in existence. WE were meant to be the permanent underclass of this country through the most abject means, whether it was jim crow laws, segregation, housing discrimination etc...this is the destiny of black people in America...
And y'all wanna stay for this? And rep this country?

Aight maybe "Don't give a damn" was harsh. But outside of having Africa DNA in me, I have no connection to Africa. I'm black and I'm from America. We're different than Africans. And I feel more inclinded to help other Black Americans compared to Africans.
What I meant was, if I did leave America I'd rather go to an Asian country. I have no interest in Africa and I'm not going their just to be around Africans.
