Old eccentric Colonial era nudist dude created wicca by pulling from all kinda other stuff he came into contact with.

Funny you mentioned this. I remember YEARS ago out of curiosity I wanted to see what was out on the web about Hoodoo. Went on a couple websites and seen that “Wicca” shyt being thrown in and called bullshyt immediately.
Basically a slick way for white appropriators to insert themselves into our shyt.
Unfortunately a lot of us didn’t grow up familiar with it enough to sort the real from the fake so they fall for the con game. Fortunately there’s a burgeoning community online, led by Black folks, who are getting it right and countering the frauds.

"Wicca" is a self proclaimed practice while being called a "Witch" is a designation ...similar to being designated a barbarian, heretic, pagan, etc.
What's being talked about here is the practice of wicca originating in the 30's-40's. Folks can call someone else a "Witch" for any'ol reason.
For example as previously stated...
Actually the guy had a different name from witch or wicca for generic "spiritualist" in Britain prior to wicca.
I'd have to look back through the doc to find the name.
