The retaliation claim would come about if they fired ME because SHE filed the formal complaint. It would never happen on something this minor, but ya never know how foolish some folks can be.
I’m saying as an employment attorney, I’ve never seen a successful claim for employment discrimination/retaliation in this context. You’d have to make a complaint of discrimination for a protected class (race/age/disability) or participate in an investigation to trigger a protected activity. A spouse of an employee confronting a supervisor who questioned if she was truthful doesn’t fall in that category.

I've been there 23 years... I should be good. At home now, so I was able to ask Yvonne if there was something about this story that I was leaving out, and she says that this incident isn't the first time that this particular supervisor has gotten out of pocket with her over the phone. Apparently This was the 3rd time that they had butted heads, and she was tired of it.
Honestly breh, change your contact info at work to avoid possible drama I understand her (God bless her) sentiment of trying to defend you, however she should have consulted with you before proceeding to grandstand and show up at you workplace unannounced and starting a process without your knowledge. It goes without saying that you need to have a conversation about how to proceed in these situations going forward. Business should always be handled in a calculated manner not in an emotional manner.

My wife would've discussed it with me before she made ANY moves.

As I would do with her.

:yeshrug:
This is correct. I understand her being angry at them and agree it needs to be addressed but that will be addressed BY ME. All confrontations need to go through the head of the household. All actions taken need to be done by head of household. Unless it’s a job issue in which case, whosever job it is needs to address it after it’s discussed with HOH and the course of action decided. In this case it IS the head of household and his job so it most certainly needs to be handled by him.

She overstepped her place and was overzealous, not because she spoke to the employer, but because she did so without consulting him or with his blessing. She seems to have done it out of genuine concern and ethics but acting on that can still have you make the wrong decisions for the right reasons.

Don’t know your profession but go ahead and make a lateral move because you never getting promoted again with this company. After this stunt there’s no way the men in the company who make decisions trust you as someone they can go to war with :hubie:

Nevermind then:hubie:

She can proceed judgment free from me.

She probably didn’t tell you because she knew you would try to stop her :mjlol:
