Wild stories from grandparents?

Any of y'all got grandparents who have told some wild ass stories from their past? My grandma has told me a bunch. For example she told me her oldest brother Grover slashed up some predator cac when he was trying to break into their home late at night full of alcohol (Daddy wasn't home).

She was dying laughing telling me the story. Said he just about killed him. Had to skip town afterwards though. This was like in the late 40s early 50s (Alabama)

Told me some other ones as well involving family members catching bodies. Crazy stuff.




Sometimes I wish I would record these stories. They're something.

My great aunt was the oldest and my grandmother the youngest.

Their mom died while my grandmother was young.

One day their dad just didn’t come home. 1935 Louisiana, just gone.

No clue what happened.

So my great aunt at 13 has to start working (black girl during the Great Depression ) while getting all of her siblings to live with aunts and uncles.

She’s the only one still alive and turned 100 this year

beautiful that she’s still alive. It’s sadly common to hear stories where our grandparents & even parents had to crawl and scratch just to live a standard life.

I would agree with you but he was the same dude who broke out of jail then went to boot camp during vietnam...made it to phase 3 before he was arrested during drill and sent back to jail...thats a true story lol my uncle is on some shyt.

My grandma (RIP) loved wrestling so much that when she went to a wrestling show and Tommy "Wildfire" Rich was getting jumped that her and my granddad crossed the railing to help, and grandad started getting stumped out but everyone was running from my grandma. Cause the purse she was hitting everyone with had a brick in it, and the promoter have her lifetime tickets to the shows, and years later I was wondering why and how we could afford to go to these wrestling shows, and all these big ass wrestlers knew my grandma. She had plenty of bootlegging stories too. Frog (my grandma nickname) had some gangster ass stories and comedy stories for days. I miss my OG for real.

My great grandmother spent all of her childhood and most of her adult life believing that her mom .. was her sister. It was the South, and her mom was young. It blew my mind and still does.

Yea, it's a city now, but back it was just a decent sized town/area. Apparently, some where along the blood line, the fam ran it.

The main story I heard plenty of times growing up was great grandma cut up a chicken in a bar in front of everyone. Told her only reason U ain't dead cuz I know ur momma.

Never got arrested, or even questioned by police who was there when it happened.


Couple other stories bout numbers n bootlegging.

Had tons of land that ended up being lost by the time I was born. Some say that side just didn't want to share it kept it for themselves.

Who knows, some of the fam still don't really fukk with each other over it.
