Crazy thing is they usually have prisoners fight fires making little next nothing, but won't hire them after they get released because of their arrest record.

How crazy that sounds?

It's on a volunteer basis, and a lot of them do get hired on, but they have to get their record expunged, which doing the program counts towards.
