In 94, in the 2nd half Gwynn was hitting .423 through 111 AB's. I remember in 94 he hit a point when his average just kept increasing every week. I really think he would have done it in 94 if not for the strike.

Watching him do it in 94 was forget hr's Gwynn batting .394 in that era is impressive.I wish he would have finished with .399.9 or something so we can round it off and say he bat .400 .His #'s could have been way higher if not for the strike. .394 in August is nothing to sneeze at

If Bonds couldn't do it during those years when he could put the fat part of the bat on almost every single pitch he swung at, I don't see it happening. Batting champions have been hitting around .330 in recent seasons.
