If there is a skilled labor shortage, then why is there not full employment? That would mean most of unemployed would be low skilled workers and that would put a downward pressure on low skilled wages.

High wages for low skilled workers is largely a result of government policy, strong unions and culture, not immigration.

Oh and just in case you two want to keep arguing about high skilled labor shortages resulting in high wages for low skilled workers, the unemployment rate in Denmark is 6.5% and they are still paying their McDonald workers $21 an hour. So maybe you may want to reexamine your immigration explanation.

Naw..... I think 'workers' is the wrong word. Ive been 'working ' for the first time in years...and I make less money and am less happy. Been holding a job down for like 4 months. Slave is the right word.... so why in the hell would you pay a slave a decent wage?? Especially when that slave has limited options?

Im going to quit my job, I was just trying it out per someone's suggestion. This isn't natural for our people, and I don't really do shyt. If we weren't slaves....... I could see paying burger flippers 15 bucks, lol.... how can u live off 8 dollars???

It's called the law of supply and demand, European countries tend to have a shortage of workers, America has literally millions of people arriving every year that will work for anything

Outside of Germany, the euro zone has regionwide unemployment of 11.7%.

But yeah, Germans having higher wages certainly wouldn't have anything to do with their workers having stronger unions and as a result more collective bargaining rights.
