business moves - leeches off of established brands to build hype to (see rap skills)
global popularity - is beyonces husband who does music too. Snoop is a bigger global star
talented wife - was a money move. beyonce can't date just anybody and everyone with that level of money is married except jay.
endless money - they said the same about mc hammer

jay was smart enough to realize the he is a brand early whereas other artist dont ever see that early in the game

Cmon breh, his rap skills right now isnt what they were but whenever we know Jay is featured on a track we stop what we doing and listen! He still has that effect, and he can still sell out arenas.

He's not the top person in any of those single categories individually but he is one of if not the only person who actually fits all those categories. That's really kind of a fixed race. If you tailored the categories around MF Doom than Doom would win. If you tailored it around Drake than Drake would win.
