Will even leasing a Range Rover give me a headache?

I actually want a coupe, but for practical reasons I'm also looking at mid-size SUVs. I like the look and size of the Velar, but damn near everywhere says Range is pretty much a shyt car...is this for owning or am I gonna be in for a headache leasing it too?

And why don't any of the (foreign) luxury SUV's look rugged/have more angular lines? That's pretty much what has me looking at Rovers...the rest of those shyts look like bytch ass Rav 4's or X3's

No lease should give you a headache, it’s all under warranty. A brand new Range shouldn’t give you any issues. It’s after a couple years outta wArranty and couple tens of thousands of miles where the issues start.

Ok I'll give you my opinion based on my experience. I've owned two range rovers so far, a 2008 full size hse and now I have a 2011 full size hse. rovers are very finicky and can throw codes like it's nothing but this is not to be confused with leaving you stranded. I've never experienced that.

Now in your situation since you want to lease, I dont see why you would have issues with a new range rover. If you do happen to have any issues the dealer would give you a loaner while they fix yours. The bad reputation range rovers get are from previous generations like the P38 (1996-2002) and the bmw engine L322 (2003-05). Bad reputation is hard to shake but ever since 06 when they went with a jaguar ford engine it's been more reliable.

I dont know if you have your own business but range rovers qualify for an accelerated business tax break due to it weighing more than 6,000 lbs. You can damn near write the whole suv off. So to answer your question, leasing a rover will not give you a headache but owning an out off warranty rover definitely will.
