I have a 2012 Rover sport with a custom exhaust that make it sounds like a V8 monster.

Only issue I ever had was a water pump and that was normal.

Damn, I went to the Hyundai website trying to find some information on the new Genesis SUV.

They have a completely different website for the Genesis rides....I guess it's like the Toyota/Lexus thing.

Genesis looks nice.

FIL and an ex have ranges
Seems like a hassle to own, both be in the shop way to much for newer cars imo
But with a lease it would just be an annoyance instead of a financial L at least :manny:

I actually want a coupe, but for practical reasons I'm also looking at mid-size SUVs. I like the look and size of the Velar, but damn near everywhere says Range is pretty much a shyt car...is this for owning or am I gonna be in for a headache leasing it too?

And why don't any of the (foreign) luxury SUV's look rugged/have more angular lines? That's pretty much what has me looking at Rovers...the rest of those shyts look like bytch ass Rav 4's or X3's

I got 2 ranges and I love them and this is coming from a person that owned numerous bmws

potentially yes, but if you lease then you are covered with repairs, but you still have to go the shop to get it fixed which is time.

Ok I'll give you my opinion based on my experience. I've owned two range rovers so far, a 2008 full size hse and now I have a 2011 full size hse. rovers are very finicky and can throw codes like it's nothing but this is not to be confused with leaving you stranded. I've never experienced that.

Now in your situation since you want to lease, I dont see why you would have issues with a new range rover. If you do happen to have any issues the dealer would give you a loaner while they fix yours. The bad reputation range rovers get are from previous generations like the P38 (1996-2002) and the bmw engine L322 (2003-05). Bad reputation is hard to shake but ever since 06 when they went with a jaguar ford engine it's been more reliable.

I dont know if you have your own business but range rovers qualify for an accelerated business tax break due to it weighing more than 6,000 lbs. You can damn near write the whole suv off. So to answer your question, leasing a rover will not give you a headache but owning an out off warranty rover definitely will.
The range you have has common issues with the air suspension going out. Everybody that I know that has/had one, they shyt was slammed to the ground at one point lol. Haven’t heard much bad about the current shape

Tell me about it. The front was slammed one morning. Long story short.. two front air struts plus the compressor that overheat trying to overcompensate..$3500+ so far. That fixed the slammed front suspension but now that bytch threw suspension fault codes again this morning :pachaha:.
