Hogan saying it isnt the problem. And listen real close because im going to break it down for everyone. It is the thought process of saying another entire race is lower than your daughter because of a stereotype. A stereotype that didnt even apply to the man in question.
Hogan shouldnt be apologizing for what he said. That is a half apology. If he wanted to be progressive, he should apologize for the way he views the world and the hate he perpetuated. The word "******" wouldnt even be a thing if the world just eliminated a supremecist thought process Brooke Hogan wouldnt have had to apologize for her bigoted father's tirade nor felt bad about who she chooses to make a mate.
Hogan is the worst type of human being because he puts himself on a pedestal like a lot of white people do and honestly getting caught should turn into the best thing that ever happened to him if he had the foresight to correct his thinking. Instead he chooses to feel sorry for himself and this deserves every bad thing that happens to him from here on.
And if youre still a stan of his after this then i hereby declare you a bigot by proxy
Agreed on the thinking
And even with all that said, can Hogan recover and redeem himself by addressing the idea that it was a problem to even think it casually despite the fact he had black friends and hid this? Yes

Do I think its within his capability and the people he surrounds himself to actually go through with it and address the issue as maturely and with clarity as so? No
but you never know, there's been the odd occasion he spoken on things maturely but hey broken clock is right twice a day.I'm still mixed about him. He was never someone I looked up to or anything, he was just a favorite to watch and someone I liked seeing around for nostalgia reasons and its pretty weird at times seeing him not being mentioned now on WWE (though any longtime wrestling fans would know that's no different than how the WWE treated when he was in WCW). But this behaviour cant be condoned or respected either especially when its comment that directly offend me.
I'd like to see him to come out of this and recover, but no one owes him forgiveness whatsoever even if he was to display the awareness and foresight you talk about , especially the people who he directly offended who have had to live with the burden of dealing with people with that kind of hidden feeling even if considered unintentionally racist. There's enough people who will probably forgive him and want him back, but he's lost the last strain of people who would cape for him anyway.

If youtube and FB comments are a good indicator, that is lost on way too many. Both conservatives that don't think anything they say is wrong, and liberals that don't get that just censoring everyone don't make them less hateful.
