KANYE & NAS ARE LIKE NIGHT AND DAY MUSICALLY AND PERSONALITY WISE. YOU CANT EVEN REALLY COMPARE THE TWO. LYRICALLY NAS IS THE GOAT. KANYE IS BETTER AS FAR AS MUSICALITY AND CREATIVITY ARE CONCERNED. BUT ITS HARD TO COMPARE THIER CATALOG AND DECIDE WHICH IS BETTER. STILLMATIC IS THE ALBUM THAT MADE ME FALL IN LOVE WITH HIP HOP AND THE STAND OUT TRAX ARE STILL DOPE TODAY.. KANYE'S 1ST ALBUM DIDNT COME OUT UNTIL 3 YEARS LATER AND YOU CAN BARELY EVEN LISTEN TO COLLEGE DROPOUT TODAY WITHOUT RAPING THE SKIP BUTTON(STILL A CLASSIC THO)...BUT THE POINT IS THAT "IT AINT NO BEST". KANYE DOESNT HAVE AN ALBUM IN HIS CATALOG THATS TOUCHING NAS LYRICALLY. BUT NAS DOESNT HAVE A PROJECT IN HIS CATALOG THAT HAS SHIFTED HIPHOP CULTURE AND BLACK CULTURE LIKE KANYE HAS. BOTTOM LINE EVERY MC IS DIFFERENT AND WHOS BETTER AND WHATS BETTER IS REALLY JUST A MATTER OF OPINION B/C WHAT SUITS YOU WONT NECESSARILY SUIT THE NEXT PERSON. SO JUST BE HAPPY THAT WE WERE BLESSED TO HEAR GOOD MUSIC FORM BOTH OF EM...............SIDE NOTE...HIP HOP WAS DEAD WAS PURE TRASH AND KANYE HAD THE BEST VERSE ON THE WHOLE ALBUM "STILL DREAMIN"...

People really comparing Ye to NaS?
Kanye is a top 5 producer (not beatmaker) of all time, so is Dre, so is Premo which is why their albums are up there amongst the greatest.
It's not due to their rapping skills but their musical skills, their hiphop knowledge, their production skills, beat making and on. And in Kanye's case he knows how to write music to get the most of his lyrics.
So yes, people are comparing them. Just like Dre's two albums bombs all over all of Eminems albums even though Eminem is a 1000x1000^3 times better rapper.
Stillmatic only got 5 mics because blueprint did a few months earlier let's keep it hunnid. Solid effort but Nas will always be the perennial underachiever with one classic album while kanye is a genius who consistently re-invented him self and reached new heights as an artist.

I agree with 1/2 of this Kanyes verse on Still Dreamin was great, but HHID I like more with every listen, a lot of shyt Nas was saying on that album went over a lot of n1kkas heads in 06 and has come to fruition, now.

I understand I'm in the minority but I think it's his best album after Illmatic, from a lyrical standpoint, beats were iffy but I still think it's his second best. 4.5 mics.
