i mean his arm is ridiculous, but his decision making has suffered but i'm not sure how much of that is coaching (going through a diff qb coach and OC) and how much it is just mental or bad mechanics

but as a tight end....

I'd try him at QB first and then transition him to TE if all else fails. He's a poor decision-maker though and a good QBs have to be good decision-makers by trade.

could the bad decision making be simply due to the fact that he wasn't a qb before college? just not enough in game time?

In all likelihood this factors into his porblems. If Thomas could get some more development time, maybe he could be something but that's a big maybe. Arizona is a good place for him because they have a decent squad and can give him more to develop while Palmer plays.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
The thing is... when he was recruited by Va Tech he wanted to play TE. He specifically told them he didn't want to play QB. They waited until after he got there to convince him to be Tyrod Tayor's heir because they failed to recruit EJ Manual or Tajh Boyd.

:dead: @ him being drafter before Boyd. The thing with Thomas is that he has all of the physical tools to be a great QB but he's raw as hell (no homo). At one point he was a top 5 prospect on Mel Kipers big board after his sophomore year based on potential alone. He's the type of player coaches will try to develop.

Yes as in he will improve and stay qb?
Yes he will stay at QB as long as Arians is the coach of the Cards.

a. Arians likes his TE's to be blockers.
b. Arians likes vertical passing big QB's which Thomas is with some athletic ability.
c. Arians likes building guys from scrach, look at Big Ben.

Besides Logan is a more natural QB than Cam was. He actually understand pro plays and goes through progressions. He just needs to work on his technique, his feel for the game, and his footwork. Those can all be fixable. He will never be a 100 QB rating QB. He's a vertical passing type like Flacco and Big Ben. His job is to pass the ball in the intermediate and deep balls at a good rate, extend plays, and be tough.

He doesn't need to have the nuisance of the game for his style of QB.
