I honestly don't know.
The Xbox brand in consumers eyes been a success mainly due to the 360, not talking about financial success but more like it achieved what it set out to do, and that was take a good chuck of market share from Sony. Financially, Xbox is not at the top of the totem pole in accords to where Microsoft wants to take the company under the new leadership of Satya Nadella. With it's latest console lagging behind it's main competitor plus reports that Microsoft is managing to hide losses from the Xbox division in it's financial reports, and investors trying to spin it off.... the future of Xbox is a crap shoot tbh. I'll put my money of Xbox continuing to exist.... just not under Microsoft anymore.
This is in contrast to Sony who is emphasizing gaming as one of the core tenants going forward in the gradual turnaround of the company under Kazuo Hirai. And Nintendo is in their own little world.... somewhere....
