nah breh,
PS4 costs $381 to make, according to hardware teardown

can't take those losses like they could in the past. PS3 launch ensured that. They were making profit damn near at release and the financials confirmed this (I get those).

We knew they kept the 4k bluray out of the pro to keep the price at 399. Obviously they did their research and showed that 4k disc adoption wasn't worth the price to do it with what they were putting in the pro. I fully expect the nickel to have one. Disney has yet to make 4k discs yet. That probably went into their decision as well. The price at 399 was more important than throwing in the 4k disc player. :yeshrug:

As for the Scorp's price, Best case scenario is 499. MS isn't known for taking huge losses on electronics, esp not being a hardware manufacturer. Realistically, 550 makes more "sense" to me and is still a deal IMO.

Nall fam they were losing there are plenty of articles out there that states this. Here is one example

https://www.google.com/amp/www.pock...xpects-to-turn-a-profit-on-launch-day.amphtml

Sony can't afford to make a new console while taking huge losses especially on the level of a Microsoft. I say 2020 with announcement next year for PS5 but Microsoft is already working on their next system as well. This shyt crazy to think that even though Microsoft is losing this generation they are changing the outline of console gaming. They are forcing the hand of the competitors by forcing adopting rates to be higher all the while expanding their foothold to Pc etc...

Scorp probably gonna be priced higher. I mean I doubt they're making it for mainstream success. the Xbox One S is for that.

That article was before the parts breakdown of the article I cited b and that article also specifically say they expect to turn a profit on launch day. :dahell:
They m

The Gaming division is by far their best division and is doing better each quarter. They are not taking losses like you claim. Remember, I'm a shareholder and the numbers are there in the financial statements.

they're not really changing anything with console gaming. PC and console compatibility isn't exclusive to Xbox. And it's hard to force when you are not in the leading position. They also have no real foothold outside of this country on a global scale. And their lack of exclusives is still a problem. They'll never be in a position to dictate until they find a way to be relevant outside of the US and get some exclusives that people actually care about. I know I clown them, but they need to find a new hit this gen. If Sea of Thieves and Crackdown flop, I don't see much hope for the future with them and their exclusive efforts. The fact you can get their exclusives day 1 on pc too doesn't make the console itself necessary.

I'm still holding on to the PS5 in 2019. It just makes too much sense and the marketing writes itself.

The real question is whether PS5 will be worth it over a Scorpio if you don't care about Sony exclusives.

Microsoft will probably ride with Scorpio for the next 3-4 years before their next console.

Agree, it will be 4 years after the OG Xbox one launch when Scorpio hits and has more than enough graphical power to last that long.

hologram gaming will be the next leap IMO.

I'm sure it'll be priced higher and Phil already gave himself an out if people get mad. He always said it'll be premium and with the cooling system and power that is going into it, it's just hard to expect a "regular" price.
