Depends on how much golden state can pay and how many more superteams are going to be made

We all know its coming next year (barring injuries) ..

I don't think you'll see this matchup next year.

I think the Cavs get knocked off.

People are completely underestimating how injury prone Kyrie and Love are as well as the fact that this is an older team. LeBron is also 14 years deep and the miles will catch up sooner than later. This is literally the oldest team in the league.

The 2011 Lakers were one of the favorites to win the chip going into the playoffs and the Mavs swept them. Things fall apart much quicker than people realize.

yeah ppl forgot how quickly things are

like lebron went to the Cavs specfically to combat the Spurs. nobody was thinking GSW would be an all-time dynasty back in 2014.

Exactly.

I fully expect the Bucks to emerge next year. A full year of Giannis, Middleton and Thon should get them 50 + wins. Who knows if Parker comes back but they'll add some pieces and be a tough out next year. Washington will be better, Philly is on the rise. Boston could make 1-2 moves and be there.

It would be a statistical anomaly for things to not catch up with the Cavs given their age. Look at Kyrie having knee problems already. He's been to 3 straight NBA finals and played in the Olympics last summer. Love missed 20 games this year. The Cavs still can't guard anyone and will be a year older next year. Honestly if I could bet the field winning the East next year I would. I see this as their last hurrah much like the spurs in 2014.

The east is :trash: and the Cavs are loaded and they have won every trade the last 3 years even tho they don't have anything to trade

Yup, don't underestimate LeGm. If something happens where he needs more/different pieces next year he'll get them. 7 years straight. I wouldn't bet against them in the East until it actually happens.

So true.

My excitement should be higher, but when you see 2 teams moonwalk into the finals, it feels like the finals is the start of the playoffs.

I don't get the whole "East is garbage" argument when the west is equally as lopsided. Just because San Antonio has a possibility of sneaking in if they're healthy, the west isn't that much more balanced. The Rockets, Thunder, Clippers, Jazz, Grizzlies and Blazers aren't serious threats to win the West :beli:
