Nothing
But to stay on topic,

No. as of right now Rick Ross isn't pushing for Legendary status as far as bars are concerned. but until he's dead and in the ground, he could very well earn Legend status. we just have to stay tuned.

Who did Ross put on that didn't already have a buzz and a fanbase?

TI putting on Dro > Ross

Nelly, Jeezy, Drake never signed established artist

Drake did put the Weeknd on if you are talking cosigns

And to answer the thread, Ross is a legendary as anyone that ever rapped
Wale and Meek didn't have fan bases like that. Wale had somewhat of a following but it wasn't close to what he had post MMG. His debut flopped. And Meek was bouncing around from camp to camp. He would have been on the long list of failed philly street rappers (cyssero, Joey Jahid, Young Chris solo career, etc). Meek was even signed to TI. Who speaking of which, I won't take away what TI did for him but his career always revolved around his ability or inability to have a hit.

How was Freddie Gibbs not anymore established than Meek prior to MMG?

Somewhere tropic...
He put an end to Curly, one of the biggest stars in hiphop ever, the beef king extraordinaire, nightmare goon walking.
For that alone......
Plus his music is pretty good :ehh:

Meek was the hottest rapper in Philly before Ross signed him

Wale was huge on the mixtape scene and had publicity from a debut album

I'm not discrediting Ross cosign giving taking those 2 careers to a different level

But you can't compare them to PND, Kuntry Kane, Murphy Lee, etc

He didn't have a legendary impact and he doesn't have a legendary catalaogue. No year or time since he came out has been the Ross era. He always been over shadowed. Solid artist but not legendary in any sense.

Hard to disagree with this.

With many albums in the game at this point, do you think Ross will be considered a hip hop legend?

Yes.

Think about it.

nikka been rapping since his mid 20's. Didn't get on until he was 30. He's 40 now. The fact he had a lengthy run from 30 to 40 is un-heard of. He may not sell what he USED to sell as of now, but he's a still a big name in the game.

nikka has a plat album and like 4 or 5 more gold albums after that? nikka did very well. And mind y'all, I didn't think Ross was gonna be relevant after "Hustlin".
Very good point especially in the extremely ageist climate we have in hiphop right now. How many people could do that?

He was when the GOAT our Flow Lord and Lyrical Savior Hova Da Gawd was blessing him with the GOAT stimulus package in the form of some of the most GOATly verses in history & making the albums said verses appeared on be insta-classics

Then Brick Ross aka Trick Lawst aka Pretzel Washington aka Renzel Weighsaton aka Pig Markie aka Carol Winslow aka leader of the CCC's (Carol City Constables) aka the CEO of Maybach Mole Group forgot he was a one trick federal pony whose only reason for existing & being respected in rap is the GOAT Jayhova & started dropping ready-made bricks instead of the insta-classics the GOAT Hov gave him & now he'll end up barely surpassing bum ass Piggie Smalls and far outside of the top 30

You got to give him credit for having the best ear for beats that fit him.
