He may not have lied so to speak but he damn sure exposed his bytchassness. Anybody can get in the media and talk down to black people on some "we got to do better" type shyt but it takes courage to get in the media and hold whites accountable/responsible for their actions. First off this isn't new Will Smith has been on this shyt since the late 80's. He never saw himself as a typical Black male, partially because of his unbringing which was highly educated, and his relatively fast rise to stardom. Will Smith has been part of the upper echelon hollywood elite for pushing 20 years. Unlike Denzel, who spent almost a decade eating typical white bullshyt, before he just dropped too many performances that couldn't be ignored or even Martin Lawrence who ground his way up. Will has had a relatively comfortable career in music/acting, I mean come on this is the same dude that played BAGGER fukkin VANCE and had the nerve to defend that Negro leprechaun bullshyt. I respect his accomplishments and that he's put his family on too, but having followed Will since 86 or so, this is not a surprise but an eventuality.

Empire is popular with black people because of the desperation to see black actors and actresses on tv. It's also a big reason why Scandal is so damn popular, a show with strong black female as the lead. It's not something you see on network tv alot.

Anybody complaining about the white man not giving us opportunities in Hollywood needs to get on their grind and start making their own movies, or investing money in new movies, or whatever.
