Like I said, not all white people aren't racist. Yea, they benefit from having white skin in a white dominated society, so by default, they benefit from a system built on racism, oppression and white supremacy but, most white people themselves aren't inherently racist. They may say things that are insensitive / offensive but, it's because they're ignorant to what's offensive and what isn't. An example might be a white person thinking blacks only like hip hop, or assuming you play basketball, and you taking that as something that's racist, when it's just them being ignorant.

Now real racism....I remember driving down to Memphis for school. Had to stop at a gas station in Cookeville at 2am. Boy. You could cut the racism with a plastic knife. It was so thick in that muthafukka. I felt sick patronizing these rednecks' business but, we were in the middle of Nowhereseville, Tennessee and our car was on E. It was definitely a sun down town. Another time in Nashville, I heard a white bus driver get into an argument with this Chinese lady and told her she could get her chink ass off the bus, chink bytch :merchant: It was so fukkin racist. And nobody on the bus said anything. Up north, everybody would have got on his ass. But down there, it was like this was an acceptable way to talk to people. I rather deal with the liberal cacs up north with their white guilt and slight episodes of ignorance than the cacs down south who are one generation from lynching people.

:camby:this nikka name is willard. Never trust the opinions concerning race from a willard.

With that said im not down with this nuanced tip toeing. Yes there is a difference between racism and prejudice but when predjudice is backed by a racist system then the results are the same, black people at the shyt end of the stick.

Prejudice is what got Trayvon killed and racism is what kept Zimmerman out of jail.

How can will say this...

When hollywood makes movies about egypt with an all white cast as Pharoahs and kings and queens and blacks as servants? But get in an uproar cause they want to make a fictional character like Green lantern black?

When hollywood takes films like Akira and releases them for american audiences with an all white cast? And act like there arent asian actors and actresses that could command an audience on an international scale?

When Hollywood is just being dumbass hollywood and using the public's own glaring insecurities with race as a narrative to make money and be greedy a$$holes?

My thing is I dont watch tv, i dont watch movies, i dont watch sports, i dont fukk with the media like that cause the hypocrisy and utter bs is just too obvious for me to ignore.

This is why I dread fame...I'd speak my mind and end up getting blackballed. Maybe we need a dude/dudette like that again though.

:mjcry: The irony of willard playing the goat Muhammad Ali. Someone who put his beliefs and people before money.

I said you were prejudiced and judgemental. Just like so many people you label "racist". If a white person held your same views, you'd label them a racist.
Well I'm not perfect. I can't be perfectly neutral and without opinions 24/7, that would make me a soulless POS. I'm usually not so quick to judge but you gotta admit them kids weird.

Dawg. I'm from Pennsylvania and there's 5 chapters of the KKK in this state alone.

Grew up in Pittsburgh where you can see people flying confederate flags downtown in the city area.

This is the North.

So you really need to stop assuming that racism and racist only exists in the south...

IT"S EVERYWHERE IN THIS COUNTRY. EVERYWHERE.

Also, it's like you haven't seen the thread about Cops in CHICAGO lighting up a 17 year old like a christmas tree and paying a $5 million dollar settlement to keep the footage of the murder under wraps.

Couldn't be anymore shortsighted but you sound really delusional man. I'll just chalk it up to you being young. No offense.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Will Smith, Mark Ruffalo and Four More A-List Actors on Hollywood Racism, Aging and … Peeing in Sinks?

What y'all think?

full
he is 150% right TECHNICALLY speaking

the DEFINITION of racism thinking your race is genetically superior.... most people dont think that...

most think we are lazy, thugs, stupid, welfare, hand out people who do crime and murder other blacks..... but none of that statement is RACISM... it's pre judging me because i'm black.... not saying because i'm black i was born less than you as a person

now a hitler was a racist... he believed whites were born better as a human being than blacks... right from a baby... doesn't matter if you knew him 20 years or "were one of the good ones" your dna was the problem... even if you were a brain surgeon

But the reason why he didn't kiss Charlize Theron in Hancock was because of racism with the test audience.
I'll be the second person here to request a source for this.

It's amazing to see so many results when you type in a Will Smith movie + racism in google.

What is painfully familiar is a plot conceit where Hancock and Mary lose their powers (she’s a superhero, too) when they get close to each other. They become mortal and vulnerable when they spend too much time together, and for the two to survive at the film’s conclusion, Hancock, a black man, must get as far away as possible from Mary, a white woman. In addition, the tornadoes and lightning storms that envelop Los Angeles when Hancock and Mary have a fight are not-so-subtle portents of the characters’ rather tempestuous combination. Perhaps Mother Nature, or a higher power, wants to keep them apart? The premise that Hancock and Mary cannot be together for cosmic, preternatural reasons is clearly stated in the film, but implicitly, sociopolitical forces have also wreaked havoc upon their lives over the centuries, and these are very real outside the fictive world of Hancock. But the forces of racism and violence, while alluded to, are never made explicit in the movie’s universe. The fact that Hancock and Mary are interracial means that the writers do not have to bother explaining why this couple has borne the brunt of so much hatred. Placing Will Smith and Charlize Theron in the frame together automatically triggers one of two reactions from audience members: (1) an immediate, empathic response of understanding why they cannot be together (because they are a tragic, transgressive interracial couple that society does not understand), or (2) a response of discomfort or revulsion to seeing a black male and a white female as a couple (having a problem with seeing an interracial couple at all). Thus, the use of interracial couples as trope allows the filmmakers to cover a lot of ground without the need for tedious exposition.

In sum, the film’s implicit messaging about the mortal dangers inherent in interracial coupling, and on-screen solution of a self-imposed racial segregation to the extreme (Hancock at one point flies to the moon, which is far, far away from Mary), feels like familiar territory, and reasserts the old Hollywood logic about interracial couples. So, film depictions of interracial couples continue to provide particular (usually negative) ways of thinking about interracial relationships, and frequently serve to both reassert/reinscribe the principle of homogamy and to reproduce racial borders. The revolution will not be cinematized; at least, not yet.

He still didn't learn from the Kristen Stewart Situation..
:martin::mjpls:

source on kstew sit

[Focus] would have been downright bizarre with Kristen Stewart. I'd definitely use a genie wish to see that version.

The dollar should be stronger than any pride in your race though. Unfortunately. Your personal success has to be first. The success and well being of yourself and your family has to come before the opinion of you're people. There's not enough money in "staying true" or "speaking up". That's a fact. You're basically telling people to choose staying true over going as far as they can in life, financially speaking. Especially entertainers.

You see how quick black people withdraw their support, you got people talking about boycotting MBJ because he dated white women. That's insane. Black entertainers are the only ones held to this standard. Latinos don't even go through that. J.Lo literally plays a white woman in movies, and has since 2000. Does a whole bunch of :mjpls: to Latinos and they still love and support her and treat her as one of their own. Black people have that sense of community until you do ONE thing they don't like, then it's game over. I don't blame anyone who shuts up and goes for that mainstream bread. How could you?

You stay true to blacks? Not enough opportunity and money. And mainstream closesmyou out. You go :mjpls: you're a sellout and boack people close you out. The best decision is to just stay neutral. And focus on your success without offending either side. For entertainers anyway.

Denzel does this, LowKey. Because leading by example with exellence is more than enough. And more beneficial than going on anti-white rants.

Be a sellout money whore and write a narcissistic rant to cover it up and deflect from it breh's....

It just goes to show you now that the term "racism" has developed into a different meaning for other folks. I personally think we all have some sort of prejudice inside of us, whether it's towards a race or religion, and I don't think most of us mean to have this sort of thing on purpose. I think society as a whole just forces people to identify and make assumptions about other people in order to provide some sort of comfort about the relatively "unknown". In that sense, I think racism is still very well alive, but we have obviously made progress and broken down large barriers (integrated schools, busses, bathrooms, etc.)
