Didn't Rakim write "summertime"? Shouldn't that automatically disqualify anybody from being in that top MC realm? One of his biggest songs written by another MC.

Rakim and Eric b has denied it but damn it sound like his pen.

Summertime is one of the best songs in hip hop history and I’ll give will mad credit for delivering that the way he did

when the best thing somebody can say about a rapper's skills is that "he doesn't have to rap about drugs and guns to sell", that rapper is finished.

Heavy D sold records and had big mainstream success WHILE remaining a credible hip hop artist.....and he bowed out of rap when it was time.
Will is a successful actor with a rapping background.
