They will keep the pick as they should. Boston is just not close enough to realistically competing to go all in. The assets they have set up they future nice. You just can't mortgage that just so they can go 6 games with cleveland instead of 5.

It's the reason I don't see teams like Philly or phoenix etc trading they pick for Butler or pg either. They just too far away as even playoff teams to send off a high pick like that just to fight for what a 8th seed? If george or butler is moved the franchises will have to settle for mid teen picks and a young prospect. That's about the best you getting.
