The black man is always targeted.
There used to be back when the automotive industry existed, all over the country there were strong black cities in Michigan, Chicago, Ohio, Cali, etc. But ever since crack, the war on drugs, and mass incarceration hit they’ve all just about been destroyed or dismantled in some way.
Apart from the biggest like some suburbs in Chicago and very select suburbs of Atlanta, among other small cities in the South in places like Texas where some were able to hold onto their generational wealth and maintain their middle class status.
I just don’t see a strong black middle class emerging any time soon, if ever, in the future of this country. The problems in our communities have festered for so long and we as a collective have experienced the worst for decades.
Especially now that things are muddied with the effects of immigration on black opportunity. Black wealth is pretty much at 0% collectively.
Thoughts on this? From a mass-perspective, preferably. Do you personally see a black middle class emerging as it once existed? Perhaps even bigger?
