I hope Golden State doesn't have to break up their team, because if the golden state teams stays the way they are, they are not a threat in the west anymore.

As Spurs fan, we are in a safe zone right now, since Golden State destroyed their team and literally took themselves out of title contention.

The only team we really have to worry about is Clippers and possibly Memphis.

Warriors will pay the tax to keep their 4 stars together the next few years. Livingston and/or Iguodala will not return though. At least one of them is going to another team for a nice pay day.

McCaw will take Livingston spot. Younger & can hit the 3. His defense will come altho he not as good a passer

all this cba does is pull the remaining 'we care about winning' bullshyt drape away....it's about the money, always has been, always will be....and i'm talking about the owners, not the players...the owners dont care about winning, they care about putting people in the seats...so they are willing to overpay to keep that 1 big name player they drafted just to sale the illusion about wanting to win....they finna try to force the players to decide between winning or money....it's kinda always been that way, but the difference in the money wasnt as outrageous as it's about to be....

I personally think Iguodala and Livingston are gone. There are several bad teams who would probably pay top dollar for them to be valued vet mentors for their younger players (Minnesota, Philly). Can't see them taking less money to stay with the Warriors when they already have their rings and this will be their last major payday as a ballplayer. It's the same reason the Spurs are going to lose Patty Mills.

ETA: Probably Ian Clark too, who has earned a bigger payday (only made minimum thus far).

LeBron is the only player I know from memory that could play on a team, win 55/60 games, leave that team, and they plummet to 15 games. He goes back to the team, and it's nba finals. I can't even fathom how legendary that is. He's still a fukkboy but after that finals where he led both teams in almost every single category, 31/32/33 whatever age he is, homie deserves the biggest max contract in NBA History.

The east still is weak though, and they need to blow up both conferences. The top 16 teams face each other, on some NCAA College Ball tourney shyt.

They should/could make this happen. The regular season needs to be shortened anyway... @ 82 games.

The playoffs would be lit with just a top 16, seems like the East been weaker than the West as a whole since...4ever

KD is eligible for the the max at the highest service slot, 10 years, so he will get 35% of the cap if he takes a max

Steph falls under the new cba rules so he well get 35% of the cap if he takes the max

So that is 70% of the cap space tied up into two players

Livingston and Iggy would have to play for damn near free to come back to this team...

Financially either the warriors have to go way over the cap and then start to worry about the repeater tax...or they are going to fill out their 5 / 15 roster spots with league minimum contracts...or they are going to have to trade draymond and/or klay to free up cap room to build a deeper team

But this is all avoided if KD and Steph just don't take the max...
