Im not sure how i feel on the subject, but I find it hard to not intertwine the subject with religion.

I dont think being a god is possible, but maybe super-human status is a more appropriate definition of what is. But then again, it depends on what you define super-human as, and most likely, that is already attainable with power of mind, body and spirit (if you are comparing what your definition of super-human is to what an average human is). It all depends on will-power and liberty, and my thinking is that society will not allow that to become common place.

Not striving to live forever doesn't mean wanting to die. Maybe you should look up the meaning of the word Wanting. Of course organisms try to avoid death... it's the reason we are still around. its not being brain washed. Its just the fabric of reality. Everything in life is worthwhile to live for. The good and bad, all the experiences. Im not even religious so that cant be your argument everytime someone argues your reason for believing that once we pass thats the end of everything. Besides if you can live forever which you wont cuz youll have to be a billionaire in the least, what you ganna do for 500 years that you aint been done yet? Thats the beauty of life. what transhumanists want is to live in this dimension as you religious people believe you will live in the afterlife......you can laugh at us and claim we are fools for believing technology and sicence will allow us to achieve heaven on earth.....but stop acting like what you want is something different.......we ALL want to live forever whether that is in a theoretical other dimension (heaven) or in this one........the only difference is that we are willing to go on something other than FAITH

I don't want to live forever... I know that I will die one day... I would hope that my spirit continued.. but if it doesn't, obviously I wouldn't have the ability to give a shyt.

and FYI, I'm not laughing at the Idea of achieving heaven on Earth. That is something that I strive for... but I do laugh at the idea of fusing AI and human brain, and whatever other foolishness- intelligent fools could come up with to 'live' forever. I'm not naive enough to believe that those things wouldn't diminished the human experience or that mortality is something that has clearly defined us so far. I also understand the cycle of life and death and transfer of energy.

All we truly know is that we have to make the best of this life on Earth. Transhumanist need to realize that once we hit 8billion there will be some concerns. Also, we need to realize that your literally an idiot if you're trying to replace a car engine when you barely even know how the electronics of the vehicle works. We know very little about the depth of the brain functions or how it works,,,, but we are exploring how to manipulate it and fuse it in some psy fiction fantasy grossly uncaring narcissistic plan to 'live' forever vicariously through some machine/human combo that we then won't know if we can fully control?? I just don't agree with that.. but that's just my personal opinion.

Any art form and technological innovation can allow you to live forever through your works.

That is actually how you live forever. If we knew how to make organisms physically live forever then we would also be able to create life by using basic building blocks.. and not only by fuking and/or cloning.
