Seems most people, especially 30 and below feel they're destined to be Rich and Successful. Being 40+ and somewhat well off, I'm content with maintaining the level I'm at. I will definitely try to be more financially successful, but won't be disappointed at all if I never rise higher than I am right now. I've never really had big dreams, growing up in the PJs, I just wanted a decent car, apartment and a pretty girl... I feel like I've overachieved in a lot of ways. I get to talk to a lot of people in their 20s and it seems like they're obsessed with money, but no real direction of how to get a lot of it. I hate to be pessimistic, but getting to the upper middle class seems as difficult as becoming a millionaire.. To me, too much optimism about obtaining wealth can lead to severe disappoint when it doesn't happen.

I’ve never wanted to be rich or wealthy. I feel like nowadays that comes with some sort of exposure/social media presence that I wouldn’t want. I just want to be anonymously comfortable and I am/working towards more :manny:

Yes. And I don't need to be Bezos rich but the drive to be financially comfortable motivated me throughout life to always chase something higher. I have people in my family that were born sharecroppers that are alive today(thankful) and didn't have the luxuries and opportunities that I have at my disposal. I owe it to them and future generations to be somewhat successful and establish that new threshold for my family for them to continue to build upon.

If you don't have the same mindset as a man then I don't know what the fukk you doing out here

Me and my gambling buddies were discussing that Billion dollar Powerball. I was telling do you really want that much money? You come over here any more? Cant even live in the city here in Louisiana. You'll have to move to a new city, meet all new friend that don't really know or care for u. You'll be getting 50 calls a day of people asking for money. I think it would lonely and miserable for most part. Youll be paying for friendships and relationships..

No. I have financial discipline and, thus far, have avoided large financial strife as a result.

With that said, I was laid off in February (Drumpf). Ironically, it has allowed me to have no regrets and pursue my own entrepreneurial aspirations with decent success in Year 1. If financial wealth comes with it, then I can internally say that "I made it" and die happily.:wow:

NGL OP, I always said this to many people in my life from my wife to substitute teacher...

I would be happy knowing that I have a Wikipedia page dedicated to me, or have my name on the concrete of famous writers at my local library. That's what my desires are, beyond money. Trust, money is a blessing in the right time, but its worthless compared to respect and acknowledgement of contributions to your name.

Don't need to be wealthy to feel good. I need about a $200k salary. Enough to where the wife can stay home and live comfy.
if you need $200k for you to have a housewife then that just means you are terrible with money. I'm barely at $115k a year and my wife and children are extremely comfortable granted we don't have any debt but its more than that...
