You can defend Face and say it was a mistake or misunderstanding but point blank, without Willie D there would be no Geto Boys as we know it. Not talking bout the original members.....the successful group contained Bill, Face, and Will. their most successful song was MPTOM. Face said they couldve asked him to do any of his solo songs. He also said if the billing said Geto Boys then thats fukked up.

Whoever was in charge was on some fukk shyt. Ask Face to do one of his songs and KIM. dont fukkin put MPTOM on the billing or run PERIOD if you arent going to invite the group members. This goes for group members who produced the song even but ESPECIALLY if a mf rapped on it. Whats so hard to comprehend about this.

I did look back at the interview and forgot Face did say he was doing the Grammy's earlier that week. Will said he saw a billing that said Scarface and the Geto Boys. if thats true someone need the fade run. see the thing is, at the moment they told him to do MPTOM, he couldve asked if they invited Will. if they didnt, say ok, I can do another song from MY catalogue. NWA/Cube is very comparable to GB/Face. thats like them inviting Cube to perform then tell him he needs to do an NWA song like SOC and not invite Ren. Cube doesnt need to do an NWA song just like Face dont need to do Geto Boys song and funny thing is he basically said this. Face know better than that shyt.

If you know the history of the group, you know that Mind Playing Tricks was originally a solo Scarface record. Was done with three verses.

J Prince made the call to make it a group song. That's why Face has two verses, and I think Bill did the original last verse.

Great call by Little J., as it was a breakthrough song for all of them.

Geto Boys (including all spin offs and prequels) best album is the one where Rick Rubin remixed the tracks. The one with Scarface, Size Ain't shyt, Let a Ho Be a Ho... that one.

Scarface did a lot of excellent work solo. The others not so much. The next GB albums were solid..

But no Geto Boys project touches that "first" album. I felt it was their actual first, but it's a remix of the first album by the second iteration of GB.

This. The Mugshot album (Remix/Vol2 Of The Grip It Album). That was my favorite as well. The OG version of Gangsta Of Love album.


Till Death Was a Dope Album, but it wasn't the same without Willie

Loved By Few was his only meh album to me.
