I got concepts of a plan.
If OKC flames out of the playoffs, why not take a flyer on KD for a year rental.Of course he knows it, he going to ask for it
Probably end up in Hou or SA. Can't see him going back to OKC and they could spend their draft capital on something better than KD.
His role is to get buckets. He can play 28 mins a game and let the young guys play defense. If he wants to stay any longer he has to take a pay cut. Has Jalen and Chet got their extensions yet?
I doubt they have to give up much draft capital. They can give a bunch of the lower end projected first rounders.
HOU and SA looks to be the two teams though.

Both are clearly getting retired there. Russ been gone 6 years, Durant been gone 9 years. OKC hasn't let anyone else have their numbers or spoke poorly of either. They both locks to get retired in OKC...I think that might depend on how this young core does. If they go out and become an all time squad, KD and Russ are afterthoughts and KD left them for dead for the squad he helped blow a 3-1 lead to. Also depends on the feelings of those in charge and the relationships. For that reason, Russ might actually be more of a lock
A couple days ago, I was thinking about how the Durant/Westbrook era will be remembered, if this Thunder core brings the first championship to OKC. Because Durant and Russ had they chances. They played together for 8 years, 2008-16. That's damn near a decade. They lost consecutive years to injury in '14 and '15, and you could give them the "too young" pass in '09 and '10. But they lost 3 of 4 WCF appearances those other years...Eh, I know a lot of people are gonna glaze this SGA, Holmgren, and Williams era, understandably, but the truth is that KD (and Russ) did a lot for their organization and city despite not winning a title.
Made them a respectable and notable NBA franchise.
KD isn't Ray Allen or Carmelo Anthony; there's a reason why the Thunder haven't allowed anybody to wear Durant's number all these years after his departure, and it's because they respect him despite the bitter ending. I think they'll retire his jersey within a year or two whenever his eventual retirement happens.
If this group leads OKC to an LOB, the KD/Westbrook era will definitely be remembered as underachievers...
This is actially kinda sad, dawg. Even in this era where damn near everyone plays for multiple franchises at some point, you still don't thunk Durant should be the kinda guy to play on this many teams. It's turning into end of Shaq's career...

Some people have KD as a top 15 player.
Because he has two rings (super team) and two FMVP does that automatically move him past KG, Dirk, Barkley, Malone, and even Big O.
Strictly career accomplishments and not best player. He probably has a case.
It’s sad because most of those players and the actual top 12 GOATs don’t play for more than 2 teams. Shaq and Bron are the exceptions. Maybe Wilt as well. KD did it to himself but I doubt her cares. He just wants to hoop and be happy.

If I were Durant I wouldn’t want to run it back with Kyrie and I wouldn’t be too keen on teaming up with Day To Davis.
