So I started to run some checks and see something strange in my "optimize drives" menu.

I have 3 partitions showing up:
Recovery (I am ok with this)
\\?\Volume{a bunch of garbled BS}\
\\?\Volume{a bunch of garbled BS}\

@daze23 @Rain @2gunsup

I've never seen anything like this and my disk usage is damn near 80%+ even on idle. I am assuming the old Windows 8 installation is hidden in there somewhere on those 2 volumes and will delete in a few months? It's the only thing I can possibly think of.

This shouldn't be running slower than Win 8.1

^i did a disk cleanup and checkmarked the system files - it gives you the option of getting rid of the old system that was updated.. only do this if your sure your sticking with 10.. got back like 15 gbs

also uncheck auto disc defrag since it runs in the background randomly.. do it manually

Since the update my mouse on my laptop has been ridiculously sensitive. If I click something it'll double click it, like if I click back on my browser, it'll take me back two pages instead of one. And speaking of browsers, firefox is constantly freezing on me or slow and unresponsive.

it put my win8.1 in a "windows.old" folder on my c: drive. I think it keeps it there for a month, because that's how long you have the option to revert back to win8.1. I'm not sure what those volumes you're seeing are, but I guess it could be some kind of temporary files it used for the upgrade

as far as the disc usage, it's probably windows doing some kind of maintenance. I think it indexes your drives for cortana after you upgrade

I didn't know the 360 controller guide button brings up some system level menu when pressed. I'm trying to use BPM in Steam and I see a Xbox menu for home, recording and other stuff.

You might need to reinstall or update the drivers.

Also, please stop using firefox.

:ohhh:
I just tried it out. it seems to only work in a window (no fullscreen, but borderless works), but I just used it to take a screenshot and record a video. it's saves the video locally as a mp4. I would have to do more testing, but there didn't seem to be much of a performance hit while recording

edit: windows key + G brings up the same menu

edit2: got it to record in fullscreen using these shortcuts:

Record game clips in a full-screen game

Applies to Windows 10
  • If you’re playing a full-screen PC game (sometimes called full-screen exclusive), press the Windows logo key + Alt + R to start a recording, then press it again to stop recording. You’ll see the screen flash when the recording starts and ends. (Screenshots aren’t available for full-screen games yet.)

  • To record the last 30 seconds, go to the game’s settings and look for an option to run the game in a window. Once it’s running in a window, press theWindows logo key + G, select Settings, and select Record game in the background. To make a clip, go back to full screen and play some more, then press the Windows logo key + Alt + G.

  • If those shortcuts don’t work, run the game in a window and press the Windows logo key + G, then select Yes, this is a game. You should be able to use Windows logo key + Alt + R and Windows logo key + Alt + G when the game is full-screen again.

  • Some games block the Windows logo key, but you can create keyboard shortcuts for Game bar that don’t include it. Go to Start > Xbox > Settings >Game DVR > Keyboard shortcuts to get started. If the new shortcuts don’t work, the game might be blocking all keys, and you won’t be able to use Game bar.

it wouldn't work with Metro Last Light though. not sure if that game blocks the windows key, or if it's just because it has no windowed option to select "yes, this is a game"

Ever since downloading it, my computer starts by itself. After I shut it down, it just starts after 10 mins. I am unplugging it now, hopefully there's a fix.
