i ended up restoring to a restore point before an avast upgrade everything seems to be running fine now...
You just reminded me I haven't even looked at my backup settings since the upgrade. Better make sure my backups are actually still running.

Has everything been running fine for you otherwise? You still game on the PC? Is that working out? What about your other programs and sound card (if you have one)?i ended up restoring to a restore point before an avast upgrade everything seems to be running fine now...
What the hell would you use the windows store for?
Sounds like I shouldn't upgrade.
I'm worried about my sound card to be honest. Do you have one? What the hell would you use the windows store for?
The email app has been a big problem for people I have heard. I use everything via the web so that has never been an issue for me.
I've run a few games, even Fallout 3 which had many problems on Windows 8 and it works just fine.

Clean install is the only way to go.i played fallout: new vegas a couple of days ago and tested out some mods. everything ran good. haven't tested any other games since this is a new harddrive and i probably won't be gaming on this pc much anymore. i have plans on building a new gaming pc and keeping this one as a design/work pc.
it wasn't just my store app though. it started off as my store app, then slowly all the other apps stopped plus the start menu wasn't working. had to restore now everything is good![]()

So windows 10 reads all your files. They can disable anything not original and can rat you out on MS products to the man.
Imagine office turning non genuine and MS instantly being notified and checking see you downloaded it. Hence, getting subpoena to court for a fine or jail time.
Imagine MS disabling your mp3s and movies...
I don't seeing this ending well once MS ramps things up beyond a grace period.

I'll just install Linux Mint or Windows 7 if it comes down to that.
Rock Paper Shotgunrecommends removing your Microsoft account from Windows 10 completely and using a newly made local account instead. This way, Microsoft doesn’t grab hold of all your data to sync it across machines. To us that’s a great and useful feature, but if you want to kill it just follow the link below in our source section for complete instructions and plenty more details.
