Yes, Windows 7, 8, 8.1 desktop and tablets will get Windows 10 for free for the first year that Windows 10 is available. Windows Phone 8.1 gets the free upgrade as well for the first year. After the first year there is a fee if you haven't upgraded by then.

I do too...I was thinking bout buying a new laptop soon and throw 10 on that & keep my current as 7
