Apple OS is basically Unix under the hood with Windows GUI. They been jacking Linux builds like Ubuntu and Mint for years. It's about time Microsoft caught up. :yeshrug:
Jacking Ubuntu and Mint in what way? Those are both built on the Linux kernel, whereas Apple is based on FreeBSD..all of which are basically Unix, I agree there.

It's been a part of Corp compliance for at least 3 years for me.
I know MS has been pushing it with pre-built PC's for a few years. but if you build your own PC, it will probably default to off in your mobo's bios

This is why I have questions. Why push for a corporate-compliance-access element in a consumer product?
For the same reason Apple has used T2 since 2017.

Its falls in line with the MFA/MSA/SSO approach of the service.

Keeps your device safe and gives you a way to get your password changed etc in the case of emergency.

went to bed the other day with windows 10 on my work computer, and woke up the next with windows 11 out the blue.

anyways, windows 11 is mid as hell like usual, but the thing that annoys me about it is that I am no longer to fully customize and resize my taskbar, which is some pure bullshyt that's been a feature for well over 30 years prior.
