My old laptop is and a step away from so needless to say I need a new one. Should I grab one of these windows 7 joints for the low or sit Indian style and twiddle my thumbs until the windows 8 computers drop?

If I were you look into buying a Vizio VIZIO Computers - All in One Desktop, Notebook, Ultrabook PCs | VIZIO best PC's in the game no bloatware pure Windows.

You can buy a Windows 7 PC now and it will cost 15-35$ to upgrade to Windows 8.

I don't think Win8 laptops are going to offer anything better maybe a better trackpad but apparently Vizio's are pretty good.

If you on a budget and want a computer for surfing and downloading music get an i3, 4GB of memory and solid state you should be set.

All the hype has me curious, Im considering a Macbook
and a new windows Desktop


I havent looked much into it, but I word round the net is that
Windows 8 doesn't seem much better than 7

Reactions to Windows 8 have been...mixed, with most of the criticisms revolving around the Start Screen and how the Metro UI meshes with the desktop UI. My recommendation for now is to try it out the Release Preview.

Personally, I like it well enough. I find it to be like a refined version of Windows 7 and I never really used the Start Menu much, so I don't really mind the Start Screen or the Metro UI

Microsoft's retail pattern is very obvious, and every other os is more end user / consumer driven and is a dissapointment

Never used it but like dude above you said, they have a bad reputation of fuccing up OS's after a real solid offering.
