North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
My laptop died and I went from windows 7 to Ubuntu. Didn't feel like spending so much money MacBook so I rocked with Ubuntu but I couldn't deal with that system anymore. After not using it for 4 years i didn't feel like learning it again. I loaded an oem copy of windows 8 and so far so good. It didn't take long for me to learn my way around and I can find everything like normal. Even the tablet style home screen has been useful even on a regular laptop.

Windows 8 suffers from the whole when you have to tell and convince people who haven't used your product its better than your previous work then even if it is better its not perceived as such.

everything about it is just faster and better. if you don't like the tablet looking screen(like me), simply hit the windows button, and go back to the old desktop. it's not like its that big of a deal.:jawalrus:
keep in mind, im simply judging it off of an enterprise version that i had. i can only imagine how much faster and stable the real home or professional versions are.

The ONLY thing I didn't like was not being able to right click and scan individual files with security software like you could with Essentials. All of the other shyt is dope. That email app is :ahh:

:what: I right click and both the virus scanner and malware protection scan option comes up

You get that with Window's Defender? I don't. I even looked it up and it said you cant. I'm not using any third party software. Maybe its my copy. I'm running Window's 8 Pro 64 bit OEM. I looked in the windows defender settings and there is no option. I found a work around so it's no big deal.

I haven't used it enough to know, I just wanted the old start menu setup. I think they are adding it back in if not already

You should've stuck with Ubuntu. :ahh:

I've been rocking it for years and have no intention to ever use Windows as my main OS again...I have it on a Virtual Machine but that's it.

Not having to worry about bullshyt slowing my computer down>>>>*

My bad, I mis-read what you said. I meant my NOD32 and Malwarebytes scan options pop up when I right click
