it was about mostly mixtapes. specifically the plethora of unofficial dipset tapes. word to tom gist.

as far as official mixtapes & albums go, I was still on leftovers from '07:

keyshia cole - just like you

freeway - free at last

2008 was a shytty year for hip hop. Summer Jam was weak even with Public Enemy....LL Cool J didnt do a proper Exit......I remember Just Blaze making some hits that year. Lil Wayne was king winter 08

Was bumpin the We Got It For Cheap series, all three volumes. The Re-up Gang album came out that fall, and it was trash. I tried to revisit it, but still hated it. But those three mixtapes, I played the hell out of them back then.

Was listening to Nas' Untitled back then too.

now that you mention it, I remember I had a "best of we got it 4 cheap" tape. I cant remember exactly when I copped it tho. it might've been that winter.

but there was still some good stuff tho.
