We're at 14 degrees here in Columbia, SC. The weird thing is when I went outside this morning none of the cars had ice on the windshields, for it to be this cold I didn't think that was possible

Seattle typically doesn't get snow that sticks (for long) or icy conditions, so the snow infrastructure is lacking. Anybody trying to be out there in those conditions is a fool.
