He's right from the standpoint of only 33-45 of the 120 or so credits needed for a undergrad degree are actually for the field in which you are going to go, so of course you only gonna remember wha is necessary to pass because it serves no purpose other than padding the coffers of whaever institution you attending. The rest is just as they claim "a balanced education" which again is BS. Truth be told in the same 4 years you could/should get up to a masters lvl of expertise in the field of yo choosing.
I had a advisor break it down and he was like the majority of college is about making the right connects and learning the "soft skills" necessary to navigate the work world. And learning how to "think" so to speak analytically, progressively, and the development of certain tacit skills. College as it is designed today is nothing but a scam, 1 part necessary 3 parts money grab.

You remember shyt the more tests you take and pass, and the number of tests it takes to pass medical school is exhaustive. But the ability to pass tests, write essays, etc is more about the ability to do them more than remembering anything you do. Liberal arts, for example, is more about demonstrating ability than remembering anything. Nobody hires an arts major for his knowledge.
It's the liberal way. Talk all that good shyt and still lead an elitist life.
