2k is a good budget for a one bedroom stop listening to these nikkas. Unless you tell me you want a luxury highrise that is cause nah. But you can get a solid one bed in a regular ass building in a decent area.

Did you try looking at StreetEasy and rent.com before asking the coli? There are plenty of spots within your budget so you need to be clear on where you want to live.


Near Manhattan? Nah
30 minutes + from Manhattan? Yes


Spend sometime on those sites and see what you find. I actually like living in the far areas because they are more peaceful, less crowded and car friendly, so I never have to worry about my budget being outrageously high.
