i thought sherman's rant was obnoxious as hell but after hearing him speak i dont think he is a thug. however, this whole new thug is codeword for ****** movement is pretty stupid. now if u wanna use the chris rock "black ppl vs nikkas" routine then yea thug can mean nikka, but not even black ppl like those type of nikkas. those nikkas are happy to be called thugs. n not even just blacks, too many latinos in this category and even some whites. walking around like being a thug = being a real man or some kind of warrior. i keep saying this, rap music has done more to hurt the black man's image than to help the black man.

when u hear someone say the nba is full of thugs, they arent talking about the tim duncan's of the league, they talking about the jr smiths. the dudes with gang tattoos and flashing gang signs and bringing guns to the locker room. in that case, there are way too many thugs in the nba. its not a racial thing, its about having class and manners.

You say Sherman isnt a thug (way to go out on a limb), so then why was somebody who is the furthest thing from a thug, and had what at worst could be described as a mildly passionate outburst, so commonly smeared as a thug by members of the dominant class? You dont even understand the meaning of what you're analyzing. He was called a thug so effortlessly and by so many simply because he is black. No other reason.

Our president is referred to as a thug, Trayvon Martin was referred to as a thug (the idea that GZ was patrolling the neighborhood from a "thug", and protecting himself from a "thug" aided in TM's murder, and GZ's acquittal), the NBA is referred to as a "thug" league because it is predominantly black. How does it even make sense its referred to as a thug league because of 1 or 2 bad apples??. ...black people are labeled as thugs because the dominant class assumes that the worst qualities of character are somehow intrinsic to our being. This enforces and justifies cops harassing us, killing us, our workplace discrimination, and overall subjugation, in the exact same way that nikker did before. The word change is just the social evolution of racism, and its dehumanizing.

To somehow suggest that racial attitudes that power dehumanization from the dominant class, shouldnt be address by its victims is beyond the pale. You are offensive and ignorant. If black people would have just ignored their enslavement, would it have went away? If Black people would have just assumed white people would get with the program of civil rights and de-segregate would it have happened?
