We can change the narrative and refuse to rap these lyrics. If rappers refused big label money and boycotted writing violent lyrics, it’ll change things over night. It’ll only be non blacks rapping these violent lyrics, and those community issues would be their problem rather than ours.
I agree but they got to change that "get money" without having morals mentality for that to happen.

havent bought or heard a full physical hiphop LP since "jadakiss - kiss of death" in like 06.

rap music's been toilet water either some knucklehead gangster or an effeminate fan boy too scared to be creative to pick a masculine rap name.

ie.

kendrick lamar
drake
j cole
travis scott
charles hamilton

you are in the most creative genre! for Gods sake take an extra two minutes and carefully pick a MC name. :bryan:

the biggest selling artists are Drake, J Cole, Kendrick, who don’t speak on crime and drug sales

But according to the Booth, "the streets" think they soft and drill music is the #1 sound. :sas2:

Besides, no one wants to hear another Public Enemy or a X-Clan anymore. Just too many off code c00ns that want to trick on hoes and shoot up other black people.

maybe lets move on from hip-hop entirely?

if blacks started making a new dance music that isnt about destructive shyt and it pops off, you think labels wont want a piece of it? they try to commodify every genre of music. they did it with jazz, funk, disco, house, techno, r&b, hip-hop etc.
