With all this talk about the Wolf of Wall Street, what about Oliver Stone's "Wall Street"?

Wall Streets great, from a technical standpoint its the best movie about Wall St.

One of my favorite all time movies that made me want to become a stock broker for all the wrong reasons though was Boiler Room.

What I'm saying is that it doesn't seem to get the same mentions that a film like Goodfellas gets. Of course Wall Street is a classic but I can't remember the last time anyone that I know has mentioned it's brilliance or said it was one of their favorite films.
Cause white collar crime is not as alluring as mafia shyt, but trust me, wall Street is classic from the minute Frank Sinatra starts singing till the end

True, but alot of lames fantasize about that life. Nobody really fantasizes about being king of Wall Street, except someone like me LOL.
:what: tell that to the millions of finance and economics majors since the 80's.

Isn't wolf of Wallstreet / boiler room based off the same guy/firm on long Island?
i think boiler room was based on interviews from several different brokers and maybe one or two probably worked for belfort who wolf of wall street is based on.

Just because you're a finance or economic major doesn't necessarily mean you're even interested in the stock market. :dahell:
:childplease: you think most of these people want to be a corporate financial analyst at some random company. dude people like money and since the 80's everyone and their mama figured that wall street is the place to make a shyt load of it. i've never met a finance or economic major that didn't want to work on street till they figured it wasn't going to happend

Yep

nikkas in here acting like scorsece is trrying to overshadow wall street and throw it in the bushes

TWOWS is actually based on a TRUE STORY. Boiler room was based off this same true story they just changed the names and a bunch of other shyt for the movie. TWOWS is the actual true to life adaptation

shyt the dude that dicaprio plays waa probably what inspired oliver stone to make the movie

Leonardo DiCaprio on 'The Wolf of Wall Street': Real-life broker's debauchery 'reflected everything that’s wrong with today’s society'
The actor talks to the Daily News about his fifth collaboration with director Martin Scorsese, calling the film is thematically similar to 'Goodfellas' and 'Casino.'
