Wade is a touchy subject with how much he busted the pistons ass.

Detroit
The scout that worked for Detroit, worked with Dallas earlier, and discovered Dirk. Same guy saw Darko and told Joe D this dude is the truth. And Joe was always convinced he was a superstar (he also was working out during the Eastern Conf. Finals in 2003 and Joe D was like :ooh:), so yea, dumb pick but it somewhat worked out in the end. Would still prefer Melo in Detroit. Like someone said earlier, wish they kept Carlisle.

It's hard to complain about this pick considering that the team won the championship that season, went to the Finals the next season, and kept being contenders in the ECF.

Let's also not forget that if the Pistons had a rookie contributor right away (if Larry Brown had even allowed it) they probably never get Rasheed Wallace.

Beginning of the end? :cwebbdahell:

They won the title that year and went to the finals the following year.

The real argument should always be Chris Bosh > Darko anyway. Either way, Melo or Bosh would have left to go follow Bron Bron.

Sheed trade may have never happened and Detroit would be no different than the Hawks...no ring.

You right tho, my Hawks done mastered bein average :manny:

If they picked Melo, Melo wouldn't be the same Melo he is now.

He'd still be the great scorer, but he'd be less like Kobe and more like LeBron

Bullshyt.

That 05 ECF win @ Miami was one of the GOAT Piston moments.

Shaq and Wade not getting shyt that year was glorious.

The same ECF where Wade was hurt and that was the only reason Detroit advanced? I wouldn't get too hyped about that.
