ole heads aint the problem

:flabbynsick: nikkaz is the problem

Nikkaz who always try and compare this era of rappers to the era they grew up in and make it a losing battle

Nikkaz who hold double standards when it comes to new era artist and artists of their time

Nikkaz who sue phrases liek "hip hop is dead" "wheres real hip hop" "rappers nowadays are (insert stupid generalizattion)" to discredit their talent

I dnt respect :flabbynsickness: and I never will

ANd Im talkin bout active flabbynsickness that tries to disturb and manipulate the music tastes of the youngins using condescendin tones and forcin em to feel levels of guilt and inferiority because they dnt fck with their :flabbynsick: music tastes

Ole heads can be cool
:flabbynsick: ppl are bitter fakketz :umad:

But if you believe the music has lost what once made it special, wouldn't you lack integrity if you didn't say something? The worst thing to happen to hip-hop is this idea that criticizing equates hating. If we cant' critically analyze the music and apply some basic criteria to the artistry in order to separate the wheat from the chaff, then the music as a whole will falter.

As an audience - we should be critical of rappers and demand the absolute best from them.

All of the above doesn't apply if you just like chit that gets the club/girls going. Nothing wrong with that at all. I'm talking about the core fans who demand quality.

Duuuuuvaaaaal!!
I'm definitely an old head, but I'm more concerned with talent creativity and quality than anything else. Not if it's old or new. I look for true MC skills. In the older (early 90's) stuff, talent was based primarily on verbal skill. Not the catchiness of a hook or some stupid shyt. When I listen to the mainstream rap today, it seems like 90% of the things I hear are not concerned with MC'ing at all. So I tend to ignore that stuff completely.
But then I hear guys from the current era like Kendrick, Cole and Marciano (who is just sick), and I get that MC fix. But don't get it twisted, there were some wack dudes in the 90's too. Just because it's old don't make it better. Wack is wack. Then AND now.
I just think that the current mainstream audience is A LOT more forgiving on wackness than we were in the early 90's.
