Giz touts "cheaper games" as an end with DRM...but based on the digital marketplaces on both PS and Xbox today, that is a fallacy.

does this mean family share plan is dead?

really disappointed i really wanted to see how this contrast in styles played out

now its just ps3 and 360 with better graphics for this gen...where is the innovation

microsoft was going to sacrifice market share but i think they would have established something that would have benefited gamers in the long run and its where the industry is headed like it or not

The choice needed to be out there for the consumer, market wise there would have been plenty of room to offer these online games as cheap as steam does and still be able to profit handsomely under their model they would have implemented

now how can you trust microsoft decision making if they are so quick to back down, it means they never believed in their model fully, just not a good sign on their part. Terrible pr and right out of the gate they should have pointed out the goal was to lower the price of games and make it possible to have things like family sharing

marketing wise you let the people know its for their benefit and your on their side, ive never seen a company backpedal so quick where is the backbone where is the leadership?

These nikkas don't understand the enormity of the backlash. They literally thought it was only nikkas on the-coli and neogaf :dead: If the backlash was as irrelevant as they claimed, MS would've never did this. It was clearly a major thing.
You don't follow this stuff to know wtf you talking about. Everything, literally every word you write is based off of what YOU read here or neogaf. That isn't true for me and plenty of other posters here. Thats why you are able to think we think that way. Cuz thats how you came to your conclusions : snoop:
@Big Suge Knight

and you talk about companies lying to people? : pachaha:

didn't that cac get up and there and talk about how removing the DRM would be so difficult and now 4 days later they got rid of it completely? :russ:
That "cac" is a man buddah. That "Man" didn't say anything about it being difficult to remove. He wouldn't even go into a conversation about removing DRM. Not to the point he'd go into detail about if it could or couldn't be removed. The "man" your talking about doesn't design the system or games. He talks about them. So why dont YOU STOP THE LYING :hula:
This the same company that testified under oath that they couldn't remove Internet Explorer from Windows because it would destroy the whole OS :russ:

y'all keep putting faith into these corporations ya god damn c00ns
I could give a shyt what they said about IE, its not related to gaming. Now if your attempting to lower Microsoft to sonys level when it comes to LYING?
I could show you literally 50 different links to credible websites discussing lie after lie after lie from sony. Including them not acknowleging the DRE issues of the PS3 until the year 2005. RROD gets fixed and you complain about it, DRE never gets fixed and you act like sony makes systems that don't fail. The 500lb cherry on top of all that is you right now trying to convince me they don't lie :snoop:/:wow:/:mindblown:
pathetically small :usure: If their numbers were really that small do you think MS would've backpedaled like this? You think the MS execs that decided this was reading neogaf and the-coli?
Once again, the two places that taught you everything you know. Microsoft peeps those places, but what you forgot to factor in is preorders. You see, they can guage how many preorders they have, and there isn't going to be 10million preorders for either system. So that pool your referring to wouldn't be big enough to sway anyway  Then the fact demand will outweight supply regardless, this move still doesn't help really. They know they have a super system, and they was banking on after you get it into your hands that perception will change. But why not do it this way, then give you the option later!!!
And what do you mean "your" options? Do you realize that a good amount of the backlash is from people that were MS fans and wanted to support them but didn't like their new policies? Every XBox fan wasn't cool with having that shyt shoveled down their throats.
You seem to know the exact ratio of fans who love it or not. Did you fax those numbers to Microsoft yourself or did you base that thought process off of The-Coli and Neogaf :krs:
Uncharted 3 SP alone is over 40GB, and that's a last gen game. If you think discs are a thing of the past, you are clearly deluded.
1.) Games this gen will be the same size and smaller
2.) Uncharted 3 isn't really that big, Uncharted 2 was 4.5gb but all the extra bullshyt like 25 different languages is what fills up all that data
3.) If you don't believe me, look at PC gaming. There games look better than consoles and take up less space. They all ship on DVD's or are downloaded and you never read about them complaining because its a non issue. Part of the reason games will stay mostly the same in size is because developers already have the tools for next gen in place. Its a long story, and I don't really feel like explaining it right now. You can google this if you really wanna know...

because people still are out there buying discs and reselling the same used game over and over without the publisher seeing a cent from that.

you eliminate that and its just a numbers game there is more room to lower the price and still profit.

Offering better hardware at a lower price is tough to beat. :manny:

The majority of consumers(not anyone posting here) want the the most for their buck and PS4 is giving that in a tangible way. :smugfavre:

Microsoft also made several bone head statements like "If your just focused on gaming get a PS4" :skip:

Kinect and family share, are not huge selling points to the majority of consumers... it is, what it is. :yeshrug:

They had to do something major to start hacking away at this PR shyt storm. Safest bet was to revert back to the way things are. This is MAJOR, yet disappointing at the same time. I would've like to have seen the system in motion before throwing it to the bushes. For the record I didn't cosigned the 24hr policy, that had to change, but I knew it was necessary for the online features they were touting.

And yes, my options. Everyone wants to have options these days. Why can't I have the option to purchase a console that offers a different experience? Why are my options being taken away from me in favor of yours? Why are your options superior to mine and those like me? What's wrong with having options again? I thought that's what we wanted?
