How to you think ESPN NFL2k5 got to be so popular besides it shytting on madden gameplay wise. It's when they released it at 19.99 that's when it really took off. That's when EA decided to be some haters :pacspit: and bought the exclusive rights from the NFL because they were scared. If you lower the price + make the game good then it should equal more sales from jump. You wont have people saying "nah im not copping that shyt right now cause its 60 dolla's" I know a couple of broke nikkas who say that shyt every time the new madden or 2K basketball comes out. If the makers of COD drop the price of their game and it sells a shyt ton then EA will have no choice but to drop the price of BF in order to keep up. Its just the laws of economics. People are going to go with the better deal. I know i would :yeshrug:

But you're misunderstanding his point: if the game prices are gonna drop, they're gonna drop for BOTH systems, not just the Xbox, and not just the PS4. See, the example you gave, 2K5, was $19.99 on both systems. Games...new games...new Multi-platform games, will never see a discrepancy like your Madden/2K5 example when you're talking about different systems. Meaning that if 2K5 dropped in August with Madden, it would never be $39.99 on Xbox, and $59.99 on PS. It just wouldn't happen.

Like dude said above: if they (developers...publishers) know they're getting $59.99 from half (estimating here) of their customers, why in the world would they settle for $39.99 from the other half? Not happening.

And I don't know why y'all pay attention to Court anymore. Seriously, he's one of the fakest know-it-all type dudes you'll ever see. But then again, I guess I just have a low tolerance for bullshyt, and can't get through but a couple sentences of any of his posts.

This just shows that Microsoft wasn't confident in their business strategy. What good is it to show of advances in the game world but NO one wants to your machine. Ending up like Tesla. Its not a good look. The thing that killed Microsoft was MESSAGING. There PR team was fukking horrible. Obamacare was more popular than the DRM issue for Microsoft.
I get the point you're making but that's a shyt example. Tesla is doing quite well.

I don't have a dog in this console fight but NFL 2k5 was NEVER better than Madden, that's just malarkey. I owned both franchises right up until EA bought the rights and the ONLY thing 2k did better was in the presentation department. There is a reason Madden was blowing the doors off their ass in the sales department and it wasn't name recognition or anything like that. It was that 2k played like shyt.

Man stop fronting 2k bought some new mechanics to the table that caused madden to have to step their game play up or else they would have fell off the planet like live did. The only reason they survived is because of the exclusive rights, and a lot of dudes stuck with madden due to it being the OG. I was one of them till i saw the light. :blessed:

I must admit tho the new NCAA 13 is :gladbron: and i'm hoping the new MADDEN 13 is :whoo:

That pic is retarded considering people have been sharing digital games on PS3/PSN for years now.

MS just expanded on the same thing and started marketing it. Best believe that if they REALLY let that feature be known and the casual gamer found out about that 10 game sharing, MS would dead that ASAP.

I've noticed that Xbots are clamoring for features that PSN and Sony has been delivering to their users this gen for a while now.

Game SHARING :gladbron:
Digital Day 1 Releases

:heh:

And what don't you get about "always on" and discs? People with monthly internet caps don't want to download 50gb+ games, but like buying a physical copy while still getting DD benefits. That physical copy also has trade-in/resale value. Tic Toc explained this in the other thread.

Can one of you confirm that the average next-gen game will be 50GBs in size?

:stopitslime:

And if that's the case, why in the hell would MS only include a 500GB HDD in the console which initially required every game to be installed on it? By your estimation (50GB+ games :snoop:) you're only going to store 10 games on the HDD before having to delete shyt. Not even factoring other stuff you may put on the thing.

I highly doubt games will be that big.

And it's hilarious how people were backing an always online machine that's geared more towards digital streaming/downloads and then bytch about their internet cap. Sounds dumb as fukk to me.

does this mean family share plan is dead?

really disappointed i really wanted to see how this contrast in styles played out

now its just ps3 and 360 with better graphics for this gen...where is the innovation

microsoft was going to sacrifice market share but i think they would have established something that would have benefited gamers in the long run and its where the industry is headed like it or not

The choice needed to be out there for the consumer, market wise there would have been plenty of room to offer these online games as cheap as steam does and still be able to profit handsomely under their model they would have implemented

now how can you trust microsoft decision making if they are so quick to back down, it means they never believed in their model fully, just not a good sign on their part. Terrible pr and right out of the gate they should have pointed out the goal was to lower the price of games and make it possible to have things like family sharing

marketing wise you let the people know its for their benefit and your on their side, ive never seen a company backpedal so quick where is the backbone where is the leadership?
M$ tried to innovate and you and other sony stans whined like babies. I hope you morons enjoy just next gen consoles with just slightly better graphics.

Was it ever mentioned WHY Xbox can't have all them features, and still be able to made adjustments? It's like they took their L like children and said "fukk it, you want it to be one way, you can't have the new shyt, then". Why can't they make both happen?

microsoft not giving the people what they really want :tellmemore: how surprising

as good as some of the changes are all this is just so people will be faux excited and preorder more. they don't give a fukk

LOL yeah now they are! But years ago they were treated like a niche joke market. And think about all the years they spent in limbo even though...they were ahead of the field. Crazy right.

i always suspected they would have to get rid of the 24 hour thing, but i had no idea they would completely fold like a wallet on all this stuff they were claiming was so great. the lack of conviction is disturbing, but the result is a net positive for gamers

now they need to address the price problem. it is too late to remove kinect from the sku, so now they really need to make an emergency deal with a cable company to provide a $299 subsidized model that comes with a two year cable internet or tv subscription

Such truth. People acting like they don't have MILLIONS in market research

You telling me 99% of games will be all online. You telling me this game share would save money. You telling me the Xbox is superior. You telling me this is the FUTURE.

And then they throw it all away with no cares about cornering the market of "the future" they knew that shyt was a handjob for the devs. In hopes of being the golden boy system. When even ea started shytting on them, they knew they would lose crazy money and gave the fukk up

Read that again. Microsoft GAVE THE fukk UP. BEFORE ANY CONSOLE WAS RELEASED. Took everything they worked on for YEARS and threw it in the trash. All that research and design. Trash.

But it's the future right?

yeah it feels like microsoft was bluffing this whole time...

microsoft: the xbox1 will bring much needed innovation to console gaming with the use of drm...
me: :shaq2:..show me...
microsoft: :whoa:..ahiight we wont do the drm thing...

The same thing can and has been happening on Xbox 360. the only thing I don't like, is, you have to share your password/username to share digital content.
