I'm sorry but consumers are and have always been dumbasses. Anyone with intellignece knows groups of people are dumb. A person who thinks for himself is truly intelligent. An example, Peta. There cause is honorable, but groups of Peta ppl are highly uneducated on half of the stuff they want to fight. And the same goes for anything. So with the Xbox going back on its DRM policy the masses are acting like its a victory!!!

But the truth is Microsoft always had your back and here is why.

1.) DRM benefited developers, not Microsoft. Do I need to repeat that? Microsoft wasn't benefiting from doing this. Not directly. They figured developers would give us exclusive stuff which benefits Xbox gamers directly. And that has been and will be the case, but I'll get into that in a moment.

2.) Microsoft then had there game sharing, family plans/etc in place so US THE CONSUMER can benefit from this change in business structure. You have to understand, we all are in this together. Microsoft + Developers + Gamers. Everyone could benefit from this new way if you looked at it objectionably. I was cool with the family plan/etc.

3.) I tried to explain how Developers would not block gamers from Xbox One and allow PS4 used games to flourish so MICROSOFT AND DEVELOPERS obviously had something else up there sleeves. What exactly? Only myself seems to care what that was :leon: Yes, Microsoft had a bullshyt angle going on where developers had to activate a game to be allowed to be sold via gamestop/etc. Thats the only thing I didn't like. But I didn't sweat it because of #4

4.) 99% of games will be online based or have some sort of online functionality including games that were predominantly single player in the past. Even NOW after these new developments, they will still handle the online portion exactly as they was yesterday. Only difference now is we won't have all the "CONSUMER FRIENDLY" things Microsoft was trying to give us. Now the way it is, ITS TOTALLY DEVELOPER FRIENDLY because now they don't have to worry about Family Plans/etc. They wouldn't want that, now they get what they wanted. And they got that because OF YOU (mostly PS fanboys who had never had foresight into the future)

5.) This is my stance, not a fanboy/troll stance since Microsoft isn't doing what I'm talking about. So maybe the fanboy goggles can finally drop. Maybe minds can open up? Cuz this bullshyt future is what you begged for. Microsoft can't turn down uneducated or visionless consumers who ask for this. They just like "Okay :manny:" And you all will see what I'm talking about sooner than you think. Like 2013 soon. Online gaming restrictions will change the used game market. And sony gamers will be happy with the fact xbox gamers are fukked up like they are :why:

Crabs in a barrel mentality... (discuss)

Nice post.

This is just a bump though. Eventually we are headed the way Microsoft was originally planning. The consumer backlash was too much for them so they had to do something.

Publishers are eventually going to push other consoles for DRM restricted games. :manny:

And all the people have to do is not buy those games and they'll fail :patrice: they can't force people to adapt to things they don't want

I don't have a dog in this console fight but NFL 2k5 was NEVER better than Madden, that's just malarkey. I owned both franchises right up until EA bought the rights and the ONLY thing 2k did better was in the presentation department. There is a reason Madden was blowing the doors off their ass in the sales department and it wasn't name recognition or anything like that. It was that 2k played like shyt.

:blessed:

Bout time somebody realized this..

nikkas just liked it better cause it was $19.99 thats all..

nikka did YOU see any of this shyt? :what:

Interpret how you want, fact is the pathetically small minority of current gen owners became the vocal majority on an issue that we didn't have full details on. Confusion turned to panic turned to outrage which snowballed immensely. Now OUR options got stripped for YOUR options, but that's perfectly fine right? :beli:

Blame Microsoft PR dept for this. Its their fault that they just release partial details here and there and let people decide what they meant.

Also for this while digital download thing, how much cheaper you guys think games will be because of this? Games are only becoming *HARDER* to develop.

:whoa: ... I haven't been following this console war shyt as closely as most...you mean to tell me before the change, you could share your games with 10 other people randomly anywhere in the country? So me and 4 of my homeboys could each agree to buy different games, and each of us have access to all 5? Surely that can't be correct

Also one of the reasons PC games are cheaper than Consoles games is because the cost to develop them are cheaper.

So I wish people would stop comparing the PC market vs. Console gaming. Its different process and different crowds that are targeted.

1.)for the PC - you don't ship as many Units.
2.)MS & PS devs kits cost $$$$$$$ and i'm sure it's licensed per developer/artist.

As you all know, MS/Nintendo/Sony sell systems at a lost and make it up through the licenses, guess whose paying for those licenses? The Game studio. So a Game Studio may spend $100k - $500k( Could be more ) on licenses before even starting on the *GAME*.

Don't put all the blame on us. :whoa:

Even Xbots were :what: when they announced all those requirments.

I put half the blame on M$ presentation.

People didn't know much about the reqs but they we enough to :pacspit: on XBone

But the sad thing is we know even less about the benefits and potential and that right there is a recipe for disaster. :manny:

Offering better hardware at a lower price is tough to beat. :manny:

The majority of consumers(not anyone posting here) want the the most for their buck and PS4 is giving that in a tangible way. :smugfavre:

Microsoft also made several bone head statements like "If your just focused on gaming get a PS4" :skip:

Kinect and family share, are not huge selling points to the majority of consumers... it is, what it is. :yeshrug:

Right these dudes are talking like this new way was the only way to prove that the consoles have evolved.. See now that this DRM crap is over, lets see these companies get back to focus on innovating the games itself. I don't need my console to dvr, I already have that, I don't need them for Netflix or Hulu I already have that.

I think people were thinking they'd never have to step foot in that won't-let-you-leave-without-preordering-something store again. I don't think people were expecting the price of physical games to come down
