De La Soul are a legendary group. Their debut is the one the best hip-hop albums of all time. Ask anyone who listens to hip hop over the age of 30 and they'll know who you're talking about. Ask basically any influential rapper over the past decade who they are. I'm only in my 20's, and am embarrassed for you just being clueless about such an important aspect of hip-hop history. It's like when Wacka was up there on BET not knowing about voting.

How come new rock fans or rock bands can go back and listen to jimi, the Beatles, led zeppelin, the clash etc and appreciate old skool rock n roll..but when it comes to the new generation of rap fans or rappers they'll shyt on old skool hip hop and call the pioneers/legends wack..

You kids are really clueless..that's why these new rappers can't rap because they derive their influences from some rapper that was rapping last year, instead of getting inspiration from say rakim or de la soul..which in turn would make their skills on point..
