Thanks my dude. At this point, I'm just trying to control his ego, lol, cuz he knows he's nice...but he hasn't run into that lil dude who's nicer yet, and when he does, I want him to be able to handle it.

I hope he keeps it up, though. He has a real passion for it, so I'm gonna try to put him in more soccer camps and things of that nature so he can develop his skills more...cuz right now he's just beasting off raw talent and ridiculous speed. ...don't even ask me how.

U got him on the right track no doubt breh. Im gonna check to see if soccer has my lil guys interest. He told me he wants to wrestle so Im gonna find some teams down here for that.

I think with athletic kids, just put them in a bunch of things and see what they like best and go from there...like, with my lil dude, we just decided to put him in soccer cuz he's very athletic and is into sports, but didn't have nothing to do this summer (his baseball season got cancelled), so we threw him in soccer...he had no prior interest...now it's his favourite sport.

...and it's only his first year doing it...

The kid got a standing ovation today, and was swagging and shyt after goals, giving peace signs to the crowd, lol. It's funny though cuz off the field he's shy and quiet, but on the field he's got insane confidence.

Good luck with the wrestling, though. If you can get him into something he's passionate about and is talented in, that's a win, no matter what the sport. I'd give lacrosse a shot too if you can afford it...there are more brothas coming up in that sport nowadays.

I know ya son's swag had to been on insane levels after todays performance breh!(and I rarely even say the word swag lol) Ever since I heard that Jim Brown is one of the greatest lacrosse players ever Ive been like why hasnt this sport taken off with blacks, but then I heard of the costs and stuff. It has to be a way though for this sport to get more attention

Co-sign. That's the exact mode we took with both my daughters. Before settling on basketball my 12 year old did gymnastics, soccer, and swimming. She was a really good swimmer and I think it helped her speed, stamina, and athleticism on the court. She had just started training to start swimming competitively when I put her in a bball class at the Y. I put her in it cuz she used to have 1 or those plastic hoops that go over doorways. She'd be knocking down jumpers on it with ease and dribbling all over the house at full speed, under control without looking at that lil plastic ball. I was like hmmmm let me put you in a class with a real court and see what happens. This was 3 years, 1 championship, a few trophies, and rec league MVP ago.

I've been working with kids for years and you would be amazed how many don't know their pops or have very little contact with him. It's to the point now when I am genuinely surprised to see dads doing right by their seed.

I work with teenagers in the system and they dont know shyt about their pops. I just be when they say they aint seen their dads since they were like 5

I don't have kids, but folks ya'll doing your sons a disservice if you don't introduce him to baseball; hockey, wrestling, soccer, or tennis.

Sure basketball and football are more popular for us, but not everyone is gonna make it, so it's always good to put your sons on w/ a lot of sports. I'm not saying force your kids to play it, but show an abundance of sports, and put them in the ones that they take interest to.

If I have any seeds they're definitely gonna be in baseball & soccer as well as b-ball. Football maybe.

I always regret I quit playing baseball to play football. I was actually pretty nice too
