As the saying goes once a man twice a child.

We all will get there someone it’s just the circle of life.. My mom in her 70s now but to her credit she is out and about, go to casinos, volunteer 1 day a week as a mentor for new teachers etc.. she’s living her life plus her grand kids keep her in the right mind..

Remember health is wealth.. be healthy now and we will live to be 300.
Is she still active and mobile?
She goes to the gym a few times a week but she spends most of her time watching tv to the point she barely sleep 4 hours a night. As soon as she’s back on her feet I’m going to be more proactive to help her find activities

I took my mom with me since the summer because she used to live with my sister for the past 10 years but because of her separation it was taking too much of a toll on her. This morning I had to call an ambulance because I found her on the floor. It looks like it’s nothing major. But talking with some friends lately it seems like everyone is going through it

She took care of you and now it's time to return the favor.

If she was a great mom to you take care of her.

I did the same for my mom. Had to put my life on hold to care for her and I have NO REGRETS.

You only get one mom.

So what are we going to do about it?

Make sure your parents have long term healthcare. Make sure they have means for elder care. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE LIFE INSURANCE ON HOUR PARENTS!!! Some sort of policy beats them dying leaving you with debt!! Even if you don’t have to beg to bury your parents is a win. Would be nice if they left you 300k though wouldnt it?

make sure they have a will.

black people have to stop being afraid to prepare for death.

Your lucky that your mom is alert, up and moving.

I had a homegirl who took care of her bed bound father. She had to feed him, change his soiled diapers, brother had to help her carry him into the shower to bath him, etc etc. Pretty much what someone said in this thread. They're a baby again but she loved her father 100%.

Check what kind of insurance she has because there are programs and services out there where nurses and CNAs will come help you a few days out of the week.
