The music was still the main draw. They were trying out different images and lanes (astroturfing) to see what sticks, definitely some corny attempts, but it made for interesting music and it was much less derivative
There wasn't too much overload of music then either
That moment when "mixtapes" basically became albums, was exciting

this album got me thinking about the wayne album. a "washed" or older artist like wiz with 1/3 of waynes rapping ability- yet created an incredibile product way past his prime.
It reminded me as much as nas jay pun are my goats actual RAPPING is only like a 1/4 of making a great project. You can see the time that was spent in this record
